Questions and answers

BR asked:

I worked as a Motor Bike/Cars Technician. I want to do the NVQ Level 3 course here in UK. Kindly advice which is the course for my Job Title.

Answer:

Hi thanks for your query. You can study a progression course with an FE course in the UK. Unfortunately we don’t have a course in motor or bike technician. You can do a level 3 diploma in business management with us which would be a good add on to the level 3 technical quals you have completed. On completion, progress to university for 3 year degree is possible. More details on website or email admin at ukversity dot co dot uk

Marc asked:

Hi is this a UK course? Is this equivalent to NVQL3? OR HNC THANKS

Answer:

The NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications) are based on national occupational standards. NVQ Level 3 equivalent – 2 A Levels. The OTHM level 3 is a regulated qualification framework course which is equivalent to 2A level as NVQ level 3. The OTHM level 3 course will lead to university admission to an undergraduate degree.

Ad asked:

I have Diploma of associate Engineer in Electronic (DAE 3 years).what should I do? is am I eligible for Level 5

Answer:

Thanks for your questions. We would need to look at the Engineering Diploma in Electronic, to find equivalency in the UK. it will also depend on the numbers of years of schooling you have done. Ideally, learners from overseas (outside UK/EU) who have done 12 years of schooling, take admission into a level 3 course. So if you have done the 3-year diploma in engineering, was it done after your 10th year of schooling? from which country? drop an email to admin at ukversity dot co dot uk

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
